Doc Gives Back

"For of those to whom much is given,

....Much is required!" Without the monies and/or fame of NBA and NFL superstars, nor the wealth of today's movie stars, Doc and his wife, Marla, opened a 24- hours Fitness & Wellness Club two blocks from the projects he grew up in as a child. They have created a positive, safe, and nurturing health & wellness environment for children and families of all walks of life as a direct result of Doc's lecture circuit activities.  As an at-risk youth, Doc believes that had his family had a place like this to exercise mind, body, and spirit, many of the pitfalls and tragedies he experienced would have been avoided. Of utmost importance to Doc and Marla is the fact that their Club is moderately priced so that low-income children and families like Doc's childhood family would not be excluded. Priced at only $150 a year, Doc and Marla give back daily. With 13 hard working, bright, and fun-loving employees, Doc and Marla's venture has also proven to benefit countless others. Families are also able to use the Internet Café free of charge.

Doc's speaking fees are set as to keep the Club staffed, operable, and equipped with the most up-to-date technology and equipment.  As a teen, Doc recalls sitting around and having conversations about what he and his friends would do if and when they got money.  He remembers envisioning building community centers that would offer great programs.  Today, Doc's childhood dream has been realized.  To keep this vision alive, Doc is unable to accept pro gratis and pro bono publico requests because of the magnitude of resources needed to operate their Fitness & Wellness Club.  Wellness International, LLC (www.wellnessinternationalllc.com) was established for public good, and is operated and funded WITHOUT the assistance of any federal or government assistance or aide. It is powered by faith, hard work, and a commitment to a Well society for ALL. 

Doc and Marla frequently make monetary donations to events that benefit individuals with Cerebral Palsy on behalf of their daughter, Dana Brown.
